Here is a rough turnaround for our unicorn main character, Berry. Berry and Douglas are best buddies. He is sort of a bro and loves, loooooves the ladies. While Berry puts off a manly front, he is notorious for being a bit of a baby and is also a tad immature (though he makes up for his immaturity in endearing enthusiasm). He is Douglas’ foil in that he has more of a laid back disposition and embraces change more readily.
Let me just say, it took me a couple of months to get to the point where I could somewhat draw horses and I am still learning! They can be frustratingly difficult and many a time Carrie and I have looked at each other and said “Why did we pick a freaking horse for a main character??? Argh!”
However, we really do love Berry as a character in our comic (and unicorns are awesome!) and it’s well worth the drawing effort having him in there. Plus one day, I’m going to do a mini happy dance when I am supah baller dope at drawing horses from all the practice.

Above are our expression sheets for our bro-nicorn character Berry. Making expressive faces for a horse is pretty difficult (much less drawing them! Yeesh!). But I think Carrie did a great job and they are quite indicative of the emotions we were trying to convey. The “laughing” and “pfft” faces are my personal favorites!
